Dear Readers,
Congratulations !!! finally your patience paid off and TCI Express got listed. Some of the our readers had got the first experience of demerger process. Still we are receiving several comments about buy or sell. Both companies are having very good growth potential so need to hold at least for 3-4 years to get decent return. TCI was suggested at 250 and it went above 350 during demerger. Those who bought near 250 are in profit around Rs 100 per share of TCI and those bought around 350 are in no profit no loss. Those who are willing to buy now, can buy it with expected gain around 50% in next 2 years. Finalization of GST bill is still under process and some delay is possible due to political non cooperation. Company management is fully confident on future growth prospectus and it has negligible impact of demonetisation or GST delay.

ReplyDeleteDear mam,
ReplyDeleteThanks for guiding on what to buy and at what price to buy for novice investors like us.
Could you please guide us on when to sell a stock and how much returns one should expect from the individual stock on a yearly basis?
If allocation is around 20 - 25 % than you can sell half quantity with 80 - 100% gain and keep remaining free of cost holding for long term. It will help to reinvest again to expand the portfolio without any fresh investment.
DeleteDear mam,
ReplyDeleteIt has been wonderful experience learning from you on stock investment and salute to you for your amazing knowledge and intelligence on equity investing.
Could you let us know which investment strategy you follow like Growth investing, Contrarian investing, Value investing etc.
Also which are the books that you would recommend to learn further for equity investing? I have heard about many books from Peter Lynch, Benjamin Graham but don't know which one to refer..
In stock market it is very simple to succeed if someone have patience and able to control emotions. Actually it can't be learn from books but by practicing in real life. Buying stock at lower level is key to success.

Hello Ma'am, I am confused about the cost price of my TCI and TCI Express shares. I had 100 shares of TCI before the demerger date bought at Rs 300. Based on this could you calculate for me the cost price of (100) TCI and (50) TCI Express shares please? Sorry for the bother but I am new to this and unable to follow the calculations you have posted above and in previous posts. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIn below comment SD December 21, 2016 at 2:01 PM (Sushil) has given calculation example, you can calculate accordingly with your purchase price.
DeleteSorry to bother you again, Ma'am. I have studied the comment posted by Sushil. He has given a calculation to assess the profit of both stocks taken together. I am still having trouble understanding how to assess the Cost Price of each stock taken separately. My purchase price of 100 TCI was Rs 300 each.
DeleteIf you have bought TCI at 300 before demerger than each XPS share costed 300 @ TCI cmp 150
DeleteThank you very much.
DeleteDear Ma'am,
ReplyDeleteWhat would be the fair value of TCI Express? At 299 is it over valued or fairly priced?
Around 400
DeleteDear Ma'am,
ReplyDeleteIs my calculation correct or where I am making mistake ?
e.g. Cost Price - TCI - 10 shares at 250 = Rs.2500
Current Price - TCI - 10 shares, at 150 = Rs. 1500 & TCI Express - 5 shares at 300 = Rs.1500
Total Current Price = Rs.1500 + Rs.1500 = Rs.3000
Net Profit on original TCI before demerger = 3000-2500 = 500 = Rs.50 per share
Regards,
Sushil
Yes it is perfect calculation
DeletePLease update in Blog once Demerger price is fix so that one can not buy after demerger price is fix
ReplyDeleteIf any share bought before record date of demerger than only entitled to get demerged share.
DeleteDear Ma'am,
ReplyDeleteWill below mentioned arbitrage work ?
never tried nor interested but for sake of learning
CMP in BSE is Rs.325
CMP in NSE Rs. 300
Buy from NSE at Rs. 300 and sell on same day in BSE at Rs.325
Profit of Rs.25 per share
will this work ?
Regards,
Sushil
Price difference is very common in such demerger cases due to low volume trading on BSE. It will become normal once it come out from T2T segment on 29 Dec.

You have to review your decision for stock investment. If 2-3% fall in stock price is serious concern in overall negative market than what will happen in case of deep market correction?
DeleteRajesh, Dolly man is not giving any stocks for 1 or 2 months. Mam is suggesting all the stocks for 3-5 years. If u have conviction to hold for that period then buy. Otherwise it's difficult to survive in Stock market. Be prepared for deep correction if DIIs also sell along with FIIs.
Deletehello mam,
ReplyDeleteaccording to you, at what level, Omkar will trade after demerger and what may be the listing price of lasa labs ?

Definitely impact of demonetisation is only for short term. It is big positive for Indian economy in mid to long term.

DeleteHi Mam,
ReplyDeleteWish you and your family a Merry Christmas.
Mam need your views regarding PM Modi hint regarding long term capital gains tax increase which might happen in coming budget. This might cause more outflow of FIIs and if DIIs sell then there might be deep correction of our markets.
Should we arrange any cash to invest in this situation.
Your valuable views please.
Very less chances of any major change on capital gain from equity. Need wait and watch for exact information till budget.
DeleteDear Dolly Maam,
ReplyDeleteIf i analyses backdated news/ disclosures by Cosmo films, the only value creating News I can find is:

Also, I am disappointed why such a disclosure was never submitted to BSE?
So my qts is:
1) Is this the news (Capacity expansion) with high demand visibility a trigger to focus on Cosmo Films? If not what else?
2) Do you think I am wrong to say that its obligation of company to submit all value enhancing news to BSE even before it goes to media.
Company has already disclosed about expansion plan
