Location and Customer Base

Pennar has five manufacturing facilities in high growth areas and serving almost every major company in its field.

Investment Rationale

Pennar Industries has strong technical and execution capabilities. Its ability to develop value added products continuously and successfully, make it unique. It has grown small futuristic business into sizable businesses like PEBS, Enviro, Hydraulics, Rail coach components, Industrial & white goods components  in short span of 3-4 years. These segments have immense growth potential and expected to grow much faster and bigger in size in next 3-4 years.

Pennar Industries is well poised to capture the growth potential in the field of water treatment, waste management,  environment protection, infrastructure, solar, railways and pre-engineered building systems industries. It is expected to be a direct beneficiary of the government’s thrust on solar energy, railways, infrastructure, ‘Make in India’ and ‘Smart Cities’ projects. All the business segment of the company are directly linked to overall macroeconomic recovery.

Pennar Industry has low debt and high operating leverage due to underutilization of capacity. The company has immense operational leverage to take the benefit in almost all of its businesses. Capacity in all segments is underutilized since last 3- 4 years due to lack of demand. Now indian economy is showing good sign of faster recovery and the company is well set to take the advantage with ready to use underutilized production capacity without any major expansion. Even during rough period company was able to post good results.

Systems & Projects to be the key revenue driver for the company. Order flows in the Systems & Project segment (solar panels and railway wagons) is expected to increase following the government’s thrust on higher usage of renewable energy and on upgradation of railway systems.

Company is going to sell  non core asset ( 28 MW solar power plant) of New Era Enviro Ventures. Company  has started the production of Special grade steel products. It will help to reduce the debt and increase the margins.

Pennar Enviro has very high growth diversified product portfolio of  water treatment and fuel additives business with order book  near 200 crores. It is expected that it will continue pace in future.

Pennar Industry is in process to merge Pennar Enviro with it.

Conclusion

Now Indian economy is moving very strongly and centre government is executing the development plans very well. Some sectors which are lagging from last 2-3 years has shown very good sign of improvement.

The last year was 2013 when dividend was paid after the company stopped it why so ? again the topline and bottomline both increased/flat than why not sharing some of the profits as dividend to shareholders which are not many only 12 crores including promoters . Can you please explain us this if you know .

    1. Company has skipped the dividend in last 3-4 years because it entered into new businesses and products. It has created very valuable asset like Pennar Enviro, PEBS, Hydraulic business, special steel, capacity expansion in all business segments. It was during that period when capital goods sector was not performing. In next 3-4 years each business will get higher valuation than current entire market capital of the company.

Some of the shares of small cap and mid cap companies recommended by so called experts looked overvalued. Whereas many people were advising to stay away from small cap and mid cap companies due to risk involved. I was not convinced as I was thinking that investing in a good business will have no risk from a long term point of view. But finding right companies at a right price to enter seemed like a nightmare to me. Luckily I found your blog and I went through most of your earlier articles and comments. It's of tremendous help to me. Accordingly, I invested in ABFRL, Omkar Chemicals, ADF foods. Now I look forward to invest in Pennar Industries. Thanks a lot.

    2. Dear Madam,

I feel the absence of shares from the the subject sectors in our portfolio (Dairy / building material / ceramic / tiles industries). Expecting your new recommendations from these sectors. I have Shree Pushkar, ABFRL,OMKAR,Surana and now added Pennar Industries all of them are in profit except Surana.I am sure Surana also will give good return. Thank you for all your recommendations.

    3. Sure we will cover above sectors in future. Surana solar will also move up in coming quarters.

  72. Dear all,
Not sure but some comments are like to have continuous assurance from mam. Just because mam is doing it for free doesn't mean to keep on asking her for assurance to build/maintain our confidence. We all should try to at least think how we can make mam's life easy as a guru dakshina.. just a thought folks... no offense! thanks!

  74. Dolly madam, how does the stock ultimately reach/cross its intrinsic value in your recommendations?

Is it when the Company's investments finally start producing the results that market will notice and assign a higher p/e?

  77. Dolly Mam, one general query... You advise us to buy the stock within + or - 10% of recommended price. Obviously when the scrip appreciates more than 10% then margin of safety reduces and future percentage gains also reduces so scrip becomes slightly less attractive.
My question is --- What if the scrip price reduces by more than 10% from suggested price ? Does your advice imply not to buy if it falls more than 10% or should we buy more aggressively if price falls by say 15% or 20% ?? Pl. clarify. (Fortunately and to your full credit I think so far none of your suggested scrips price has fallen even 10% from suggested price and hence I want a clarity on this if such situation arises in future....Thanks and regards...)

    1. + / - 10% is the range where any stock can be bought. If any stock fall below the given limit due to serious concern or change in fundamental then I will give update on the blog immediately.

  84. I was looking the contents of another blog reader, who has asked Chairman of Omkar Chemicals regarding this fire incident. He also confirmed it has no connection with them.

Further tomorrow's hearing with NCLT may get postponed for final decision, as the promoters has not yet depledged all the shares, which look as hurdle for the approval process of demerger. This is my personal analysis.

Please wait the latest update/order of NCLT, once available.
