Race for Life

Dear Blog Members,

I was not able to respond on your comments from last four weeks. Further market reacted negatively on recent budget. We have seen most of the retail investors are deeply concerned about their heavy loss since last one year.

Negative sentiment is prevailing at every corner of the market because index move up with very few heavyweight stocks and there is no participation for 99% of the listed stocks. It is the same case for  99% of the investors, all are in heavy loss irrespective of big or small. The market trend will reverse definitely but it may test the patience upto extreme limit. In such situation you have to stay calm and composed, keep your strength and confidence intact till last lap, until you win the race.

  11. all,

Understand one thing, Times change. When all stocks were in profit. nobody doubted Mam's selection of stocks. When market crashed and stocks went down all went in panic mode and started questioning the logic.

My portfolio is also 35% in Red but im not worried. 3 yrs im not going to look at my portfolio in Red as it will come up.

as far the portfolio in profit, i have sold the stocks and put that capital in MF Monthly dividend.

With this i got 2 benefits, i have made profits of stocks and earning monthly dividend from MF. You should always see that your capital or money gives you money.

Follow this principle and you all will be happy.

  27. Indian market witnesses boom and bust every 8-9 years. The small caps and mid caps started distribution in the January 2018. Now they may remain negative to sideways for 4 to 5 years with economy slowing. By beginning of 2022, things shall start improving and the next bull run may begin.Till then there may be intermittent rallies which will not sustain. Hence the pain will remain for quite some time.

And there is no such thing called Strong hold, hold, buy etc. All stocks suggested by madam are equally good to hold only. If there is any negative development in any specific stock, then madam herself will tell us to swap or exit like Surana solor, Omkar etc. Otherwise we need to just hold on all the stocks. Thanks

  31. We need to understand that businesses to succeed, the existence of stable Govt is not enough. Disruptive policies such as demonetisation, LTCG on equities, the inability to foresee impending economic distress and take remedial action has played havoc with the Indian economy. The mandarins in the Finance Ministry are not upto the task. They do not even understand the role of stock market in a capitalist economy. The small as well as marquee investors in small and mid caps have been caught off guard this time. The small cap czar is on the run. Salvage whatever is left and come back when the economy gives signals of turning. V-shaped recovery will not happen with the economy on a downswing.

We have seen in the past that small and mid-cap stocks are more fragile during the deep correction but same time able to recover very quickly (1992-2004-2008-2012- 2015) Every time it looks like that market will never recover but survival in such condition is the key to success.

They have infused some fresh fund through preferential issue @ Rs 136 per share. Now promoter holding gone up to 75% after conversion of preferential warrants, it has reduced the debt and interest cost. They stopped loss-making units and kept good control on cost. We can expect consistent profit in coming quarters and significant improvement in stock price.

  70. Sir in gati q1 2019-20 results as updated in bse site..can u plz clarify points mentioned in
Note 3. - Rs. 22 cr given by air india ?
Point 4. Out of 20.15 cr only 1.66 cr was recovered but rest management is sure of recovery- how old are these ?

When i come to result part - express distribution business has de-grown by almost 15 yoy and more than 18% qoq with loss in bottom line.
In short..what i understand is that the auditors ( singhi & co ) are not satisfied with the cos financial alwell as the business performance.
We need your opinion on gati ltd !!

    1. In previous year company has received 22 crores from Air India but same time Air India has filed cross case against a decision which is pending. Amount will be adjusted in case of any decision against the company.

In the point number 4 recovery case pending and company is hopeful to recover 18.3 crores rupees. It is disclosure under accounting norms.

In recent time the audits are much strict as compared to one near before so many companies definitely feeling the heat. Even some auditors also facing legal case for a irregularity during their audits (L&F case)

  71. In Deepak nitrite standalone business- basic chemicals and fine chemicals have not performed well but perfomance chemicals have performed well- is there any strategy of concentrating more on high margine products ?
In phenolics yoy there is no comparision as plant was operational since 3rd q so if i compare it qoq sales reduced by 4 % and profits down by around 25 %.
Though eps has grown from 6.71 to 9.65.
Plz correct me if im wrong. It will help us understand even better

    1. Basic chemicals are the input / raw for their performance chemicals. Company is focusing on high margin products only surplus basic chemicals are sold in the market. And there is good growth and performance chemical business in the top and bottom line

There is no comparison for phenolics on qoq because during this period plant was on trial run and the production was intermittent so they have concluded all Q3 and Q4 production together in Q4

  79. Hello mam, What is the best strategy now. Should we keep adding in small qualities or wait for some more time. My portfolio down by 40%. I was trying to add more every time when the market went down but it went further down and created a huge loss. I have not made any profits in the stock market so far so obviously this is bit of a concern. Even If I'm able to generate 20-25% CAGR after 5 years that would be more than sufficient.

I'm little unclear on booking a loss at 30% - my understanding is that, if the stock went down due to general market sentiment we shouldn't worry about 30% loss. Just like the current situation, most of the stocks are good still went down by more than 30%. Please correct me.

From your investment strategy - could you please elaborate more on 30% loss, how to buy stocks on falling market, what kind of stocks need to choose during these times since they are so many stocks from the blog which are available now, how to protect the capital during these times, how not to buy stocks like Sintex while falling(I was keep buying with every fall now it's huge loss to portfolio thought it's with in 20% limit)

    1. We have seen since beginning of last year that small and mid-cap stocks have corrected continuously, irrespective of Sensex / Nifty index moment. In such market conditions need to add in small quantities and keep adding on every 5 to 10% correction. Once market will reverse the trend these stocks will also recover very quickly. All the losses will get recovered even with one stock. But in such market condition need a lot of patience. Definitely it is very hard for you because you have never made any profit in the market but your patience will definitely give you very good return and experience.

When it strikes 2020, 2021, majority of the stocks will be wiped out! Please careful with your capital at this point. If at all you want to invest long term, you need to wait until 2021 mid. This is based on financial astrology.

    1. It also doesn’t mean that exiting from the stock market if you have exited any stock with 30% stop loss then definitely you have the money and it is the best time to invest again.
If you continue to hold all your stocks ( including SPTL ) as it is then on reversal of market trend you will have a decent profit. One out of six stocks will able to give you at least 500% return but need to increase your holding period of 4 to 5 years

  89. Mam, why there are not enough buyers on the street? With such cheap valuations what it it which is making investor nervous? Tpl after posting good results last quarter didn't move up. Whereas a ny stock which has performed badly got hammered badly. Why people are not buying? Is our economy not overall not performing well...with low gdp, iip figures , export , NPA issues..low GST collection...are these issues really affecting the economy? Why this govt is unable to resolve any of these issues? Is there any signs of global slowdown too? Or the market is in the hands of big investor- FII, FPIs who are the real ones steering it. Sometimew it is difficult to understand.

    1. Market is the best place to earn the money when market trend is positive and the same time market is the best place to lose the money very easily when market sentiment is very negative.

Those who bought during negative sentiment will earn huge money in positive sentiment and those who bought in positive sentiment will lose big money in negative sentiment.

Definitely a lot of people are buying silently and they are hoping further connection to buy more . And this is normal cycle and trend of the market.
